appendix-1

Many groups and individuals teach doctrines about Jesus that are contrary to the Bible. The key to salvation and to our relationship with God is trusting in Jesus Christ.  The issue is not whether we believe there was a Jesus, but rather what we believe about Jesus. Is what we believe about Jesus consistent with Scripture?  Other false religious groups present another Jesus in their definition of Christ.  Scripture states that there would be those who would come teaching another Jesus.
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him  (2 Corinthians 11:4)

When we believe or receive the teaching about another Jesus, we then receive another spirit.

The following doctrinal issues concerning Christ are teachings perpetuated by many false religious groups. We will compare their teachings with Scripture.

I.   JESUS WAS NOT GOD (John 1:1-3, 14).

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-3, 14).

II.   JESUS WAS CREATED BY GOD (Colossians 1:16-18).

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning,                  the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence (Colossians 1:16-18).

III. CHRISTIANS WORSHIP THREE GODS (1 John 5:7).

IV. JESUS COMING TO SAVE US FROM SIN IS NOT NECESSARY BECAUSE THERE IS
       NO SIN (1 John 1: 8-10).

V. JESUS WAS NOT RAISED BODILY FROM THE DEAD (Romans 10:9).

VI.JESUS WAS A PROPHET, BUT NOT GOD (John 5:23; Colossians 2:9-10).

VII. THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GET TO GOD, NOT JUST ONE.  THERE ARE MANY
        GODS (John 14:6-7; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Isaiah 44:6-8).

VIII. JESUS IS NOT NECESSARY BECAUSE PEOPLE MUST PAY FOR THEIR OWN
          SINS (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9)

IX. PEOPLE CANNOT BE SAVED UNLESS THEY OBEY ALL THE TEACHINGS OF THE
       CHURCH (John 14:6-7; Romans 10:3-10; Ephesians 2:8-9).
X. JESUS IS A GOD AND IS LESS THAN THE FATHER (Philippians 2:6; John 1:1-4, 14).

XI. JESUS WAS JUST A MAN (Matthew 1:23).

XII.JESUS IS NOT THE ONLY SON OF GOD (John 3:36).

XIII.JESUS WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN (1 Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 1:7).
