Christianity and the scriptures meaningfully address the core concerns of our lives. In addition, the counseling department also addresses when a person needs to be referred for further assistance. WOOMC employs a full-time professional counselor on staff to handle these situations.
It is WOOMC’s goal to better equip members of the Body of Christ who are at different levels of leadership in the area of counseling. WOOMC encourages its members to receive training in counseling. Our Scripture-based teaching serves as a guide and resource when lay members faced with counseling requests. Once training is complete, laity are equipped to teach and train others in the principles and Biblical solutions of Christ-centered helping.
We counsel and train laity to counsel in the following areas: Is Counseling Biblical?, The Core of Counseling, Uncovering the Roots, Scriptural Responses to Root Problems, The Counseling Process, The Process of Change, Depression, Suicide, Codependency/Emotional Dependency, Stress, Anger, Marriage, Divorce and Separation, Visiting the Hospitalized, Healing Emotional Wounds, Finances, Growing as a Counselor, and Forgiveness.
